Auto Cashiers were installed at every corner. They were named ATM, whose full form eludes me. The flowers that grew besides the footpath in Main Street were replaced with vibrant (and of course cheap) flowers made of plastic and bright red signals were placed "do not touch".

A long and inert wish of every Aleksandr citizen since the days of Fredrick (some conqueror whose only landmark is the well in the middle of Rostov forest) was to rename afresh all the street and landmark names. The block where schools were present was named Edison Center. The block with Temples was named Amen Zone. The Coronation station was renamed as Hail Lenin! Station complete with exclamation mark and so on. Soon our familiar Aleksandr became a puzzle with all new names and un-understandable landmark. More over, auto teller machines were establish at three important squares to inform the tourists about the glorious past and future of Aleksandr. Although we had to add the history of all the cities bordering us to make it five minutes long.
