Due to increased accidents among young drivers in the past five years, insurance groups have come up with some precautionary steps to make sure that drivers are ready for the road. Everyone knows that insurance companies discount young drivers who have had driving lessons, but many insurance groups have developed anonline test that mocks a driving test to insure that young drivers have retained the information they learned when they studied the driver's education booklet. Insurance groups are worried that the youngsters have simply just crammed to pass the test only to forget the rules and regulations shortly after.

This online test formulated by insurance groups is said to be longer and more difficult than the actual driving test itself! It is also said that your score on the test will also help determine the young driver's rates. Many people are in protest of this online test because they believe it is filled with trick questions and is aimed at making drivers fail it so that the insurance companies can have an excuse to raise their rates. Hopefully, this is not the case, and the test is focused on safety and not just monetary gain. My guess is that the test was formulated in connection to both motivations,

Some insurance companies stop testing at the age of twenty-one and others extend the time period. The age at which the testing is no longer mandatory to take is also based on the state in which the driver lives in. They use accident statistics from the state to determine what age is proper for each individual state to require the online test.

The onlinetest is also being enforced upon adult drivers who have had a long time driver's license, but have a history of accidents on their record. An insurance will look up your history of accidents and will make you take the test in in order to see if they will accept you as a customer. It is becoming harder and harder to become insured these days and the penalties put on uninsured drivers are putting a lot of drivers in a hard spot these days. Hopefully there will be a resolution soon made which is aimed at safety and getting people on the road who may have had some trouble in the past, but need reliable transportation,
